The official narrative of contemporary political science has sold us a monumental fraud: the neutrality of the secular State. They tell us that the separation of Church and State was a triumph of freedom of conscience, an advance towards tolerance. However, those of us who study political anthropology from a classical matrix know that such "neutrality" is an ontological impossibility. When the State expels the Church, it does not become neutral; it becomes a new deity itself, imposing its own secular dogmas with implacable ferocity.
To dismantle this socio-political mirage, I return to this simulated interview with Pope Leo XIII. Through Humanum Genus, the Pontiff reveals that secularism was not a natural development of political philosophy, but a calculated strategy of social engineering designed in the lodges to strip nations of their Christian soul.
Lic. Juan Pablo Torres-Lozano: Your Holiness, modernity applauds the marginalization of faith from the public sphere as its greatest civilizational achievement. They argue that religion is a "strictly private" matter. However, this privacy has meant, in practice, that the State abrogates the right to legislate against Natural Law without moral resistance. What is the true purpose behind this Masonic insistence on separating the Church from society and the State?
Leo XIII (Humanum Genus): For this reason they defend and with all their might maintain that the Church ought to have no share in the instruction and education of youth, nor in the legislation and administration of the State; and by this means they seek to tear up by the roots all influence of Catholicism in the family and in society. Nor are they content with neglecting so good a guide as the Church; they add persecutions and insults. The laws which govern it are often annulled or at least contradicted; its liberty of action is restricted by a thousand obstacles...
Lic. Juan Pablo Torres-Lozano: That institutional asphyxiation you describe is clearly perceived today. We see how Catholic institutions are denied funds, forced to adopt immoral curricula, or pressured to assimilate gender ideology. It is a bureaucratic and legal persecution. Why does the "neutral" State feel the need to harass the Chair of Peter and its authority so fiercely?
Leo XIII (Humanum Genus): To this must be added the relentless war made upon the Apostolic See and the Roman Pontiff. First he was despoiled of his civil principality, the bulwark of his independence and his rights; then he was reduced to an iniquitous condition by the difficulties which opposed him on all sides; until finally it has reached the point where the fautors of the sects openly declare what they had long plotted in secret: that the sacred power of the Pontiffs must be suppressed and the Pontificate, instituted by divine right, must be utterly destroyed.
Lic. Juan Pablo Torres-Lozano: Exactly. The ultimate goal was never "peaceful coexistence," but the suppression of the divine order on earth. And to achieve this, there is no tool more effective than the complete de-Christianization of the state apparatus. Today we find constitutional States that claim to recognize no religion, which in practice makes them atheistic machines. How did you warn about this fundamental dogma of political naturalism?
Leo XIII (Humanum Genus): They wish, in effect, and strive for it with the greatest earnestness, that the Church and the State should be altogether separated. By this means they intend to tear away the most salutary influence of religion from the laws and the administration of public affairs; and from this they conclude that nations ought to be constituted making absolutely no account of Christian ordinances and institutions.
Lic. Juan Pablo Torres-Lozano: It is civil suicide. By omitting Christ and His Church, the State finds no check on its own totalitarian expansion. Lacking a higher authority to remind it of the limits of morality, the government becomes despotic, legislating on life and death, promoting abortion as a "right," and destroying the nature of man. State secularism, ultimately, is the prelude to social tyranny.
Leo XIII (Humanum Genus): Because once the foundations of religion are destroyed, the edifice of political society must soon collapse; the force of laws will lose its efficacy, and authority will be weakened, if it is denied that they have in God their first principle and their supreme origin. And since in this way there will be no one to repress the evil desires and concupiscences of men, the greatest disorders, the ruin of all discipline, and the overflowing of all vices will follow from this.
The Pope's words are an anticipated autopsy of our era. The violent separation of Church and State did not bring the utopia of freedom, but an unprecedented anthropological collapse. A State that does not kneel before God inevitably forces its citizens to kneel before it, before its current ideologies and legislative whims.
